gonna leverage me a Lordship

[under construction]

How is it that Britain's richest people have seen an average increase of 30% in their wealth?
Meanwhile on Main Street:
British unemployment is doubled at 2 million.
There are 50 000 foreclosures on homes this year.

Why?

It's all because of leverage. And leverage is the reason why the rich should be taxed at a high rate. If the economy falls, it's not a complete loss if you have investments in many different kinds of products. You simply shift your focus, and make more money.
You also have politicians sucking up to you. So, you have the latest information, insider government information before the public.
When they get sick of the money economy, and want to leave their mark on history, they buy a lordship. Labour's lucky that people are so jaded. They expect the Labour party to make money by selling lordships. How else could Mandelson redeem himself?

Most importantly, the rich nowadays are also relatively socio-economically independent. What I mean is that they don't employ many people and when their income increases, it doesn't mean that more people are working for them. (In fact, British rich are particularly lazy capitalists) They're a zero sum gain, in the best of circumstances, for the society where the rich person lives.
So, if they don't pay taxes, then they're of no use at all. They could leave and nobody would notice.
They should actually pay windfall taxes, just because they're lazy.

For you poor fools, the only way to hurt them is to not buy unnecessary stuff. The rich have their fingers in every pie you might want to buy.
Or else, get ready for Frightenstein. xD 8^O
