threading the camel

coming soon is a story about how finance is helping
bankers get closer to God.
[]
As Jesus was said to have opined:
It's easier for a camel to pass through the eye of
a needle, than it is for a rich man to get to heaven.

That's the thinking behind the name of the most
important street in
Olde Londone,
City of High Finance,
the Square Mile that Democracy Forgot.

It's Threadneedle Street. Lloyds is there, and so
is the Bank of England.

They thread the needle
on a daily basis, or so they think.
As Goldman said, they are doing "god's work."
And where better to fleece the golden calf than London?
Watch out, though. Somebody is watching you.
Luckily for our holy rollers, it's only
Mervyn King. He's retired 5 times this year,
but he's still in the job.
