I spent all of 22 hours in Holland recently. As the UK is crumbling around my ears, it's nice to see a visible state aparatus. It's a nice enough place. Lots of blonde, happy folks. Being from the verdant isles, I am cynical about all that happiness. It seems that the taller and blonder are indeed happier, and look down upon the short and swarthy.
Outside of the cosmopolitan areas, not only do public servants not speak English, but they don't understand when someone obviously has no idea what they are being told, i.e. me.
